    Description

Unique Hand Painted Hutschenreuther Hohenberg Margarete Plate commemorating the Estonian Singing Festival and the song My Fatherland is My Love.
    Signed:
"Estonian Art - Handicraft Painted by A Kübbarsep 1949"
    7.5 inches
    The significance:
Mu isamaa on minu arm is an Estonian poem by Lydia Koidula and was first set to music for the first Estonian Music Festival in 1869.
I believe the portrait on the plate is of Gustav Ernesaks, whose setting of the poem became the unofficial national anthem of Estonia during the Soviet Occupation.
