Description
CONDITION: Slight surface scratches in background paint are hardly noticeable. This porcelain plate was produced in Altwasser, Germany by Carl Tielsch around 1875. The plate measures 9 1/4 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches deep. There is a hand painted scene after the Flemish Baroque painter, David Teniers the Younger, 1610 - 1690. Cats of all colors are seated on top of a table singing from a manuscript of music. An owl is perched at top the book and monkeys accompany them on wind instruments. The legs and feet of the table are carved dogs. The rim is trimmed with gold. This is painted so well and in such a whimsical manner, it is positively charming. #C426aPlease do not bid if you do not intend to pay. You will be blocked from further purchases.
